An immediate vacancy exists for a part-time tutor to provide supplemental on-site educational tutoring for Dependent and Delinquent youths ages 10-18 at the Montgomery County Youth Center.
This person will provide one-on-one tutoring in Math or English and will also administer the Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT). In addition, this person will work with the Educational Department to provide educational assistance in Math or English.
The schedule for this role will be 2-3 days/week for 2-4 hours/day. The working hours are flexible, within the hours of 9AM-3PM.
Qualifications:
- PA certification in Education, Special Education N-12 or Special Education 7-12, .
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges, preferred.
- Must have experience working with Emotional Support students.
- Child Abuse, PA State Police History Check, Doctor’s Physical, Drug Test and FBI-DPW Clearance, required. The Youth Center will provide information on clearances needed for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This position works with the Youth Center’s Educational Department to supplement students' educational needs with one-on-one tutoring .
- Administer the Wide Range Achievement Test with new residents – Provides results to the Educational Department.
- Communicates and collaborates with the Educational Department and Youth Center Administration to provide tutoring services.
- Supports students and teachers in the regular education program as needed
- Collaborates with other teachers in order to provide appropriate tutoring programming.
Pay Rate: $35.04/hour |
