An anticipated vacancy exists for a Special Education, Middle School Autistic Support Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year within the Norristown school district.
Sign On Bonus for new to the district employees (In addition to Salary): $3,000

Qualifications:
- PA certification in Special Education K-12 required
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to work on a team
- Experience working with students with significant behavioral challenges, preferred.
- Must have experience working with Emotional Support students.
- Current child abuse, criminal history and FBI clearances required.
- Bilingual in Spanish Preferred
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide an appropriate program of education and training for the students.
- Utilize the abilities, skills and talents of all members of the team to the fullest in educating the students.
- Prepare lesson plans in accord with the students' IEPs.
- Develop, write, and implement IEPs.
- Administer individual diagnostic tests to assess the students' educational achievement.
- Provide classroom management based on principles of child development and behavior modification techniques.
- Progress monitor goals and report student progress reports to parents.
- Work effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Develop professional relationships and a supportive climate which facilitates inclusion of the special education student.
- Experience with ABA techniques preferred.
- Conduct, write, and implement FBAs and PBSPs.
- Work collaboratively with consultants from PaTTAN through the Autism Initiative.
- Assume additional duties as assigned by the program supervisor.
