An anticipated vacancy will exist July 2024 for an ELD Supervisor within the Norristown Area School District. 

                       

The English Language Development (ELD) Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the academic success of English language learners (ELLs) within the Pennsylvania School District. This position requires a deep understanding of language acquisition principles, instructional strategies, and educational policies. The ELD Supervisor will collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to implement effective ELD programs and provide professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices.

 

Requirements: 

Responsibilities:   

  1. Program Development and Implementation:
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive English Language Development programs that align with state and district standards
    • Collaborate with school administrators and instructional leaders to ensure ELD programs meet the diverse needs of ELLs
    • Monitor the effectiveness of ELD curriculum, materials, and resources and make necessary adjustments to improve student outcomes
  2. Professional Development:
    • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers and support staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in ELD instruction
    • Conduct workshops, training sessions, and coaching sessions on effective ELD strategies, differentiated instruction, and culturally responsive teaching practices
    • Collaborate with external experts, educational organizations, and community resources to access additional professional development opportunities
  3. Data Analysis and Assessment:
    • Utilize data analysis tools to monitor the progress of ELLs and identify areas for improvement
    • Interpret standardized assessment results to inform instructional planning and intervention strategies
    • Work closely with assessment coordinators to ensure that assessments are appropriate for ELLs and provide meaningful data for instructional decision-making
  4. Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations regarding the education of ELLs, including language proficiency assessment requirements
    • Prepare reports and documentation as required by district and state education agencies
    • Stay informed about changes in ELD policies, laws, and regulations and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Foster positive relationships with teachers, administrators, parents, and community members to support the academic success of ELLs
    • Collaborate with other district supervisors, instructional coaches, and support staff to integrate ELD initiatives with broader district goals and initiatives
    • Communicate regularly with school leaders and district administrators to provide updates on ELD programs, student progress, and resource needs  

Salary:  

12 Month, Full-Time 

 

2023-2024 Salary Schedule: (2024- 2025 will be provided at a later date)

 

0-5 Years of Experience: $131,458.90

6-10 Years of Experience: $135,348.88

11-15 Years of Experience: $139,238.86

16-20 Years of Experience: $143,128.84

21-24 Years of Experience: $147,018.82

25+ Years of Experience: $150,908.80
