A vacancy exists for a Full Time Security Monitor (Second-Shift) within the Norristown Area School District for the 2026-2027 school year. 

 

This position is to assist in maintaining building security and safety in or to ensure a safe and positive learning environment. 

This position will be based out of the Administration building, but will assist district wide. 

 

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Security, law enforcement, or criminal justice, or public contact work experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of security procedures and responsibilities.
• Ability to drive to multple NASD buildings
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees and the general public.
• Working knowledge of basic computer skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish Preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing tasks involving monitoring video equipment, computer equipment, and/or patrolling as assigned in order to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and personal injury to the occupants.
• Ensures that the facility is secure and that security systems are operational, observing, resolving, and/or reporting any unusual conditions or activities.
• Capable of remaining alert and observant during long periods of solitude.
• While under general supervision, an employee is required to work nights, weekends, and holidays without proximity to immediate supervision.
• Exercises reasonable initiative and independent judgment.
• Tact and courtesy are expected in performing public contact tasks, particularly those involving complaints and disputes.
• May perform work outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather.

 

Schedule & Salary 2026-2027:

 

$28.47/ hour

Hours: 2:00pm-10:00pm
